May is the craziest month, as we try to tie up loose ends and finish things up. Concerts, volunteering things, parties, promotions, and swim team on top of everything else! We listened to Jens's strings performance, and Mike and I were both shocked when he was featured in a number at the end, playing with his teacher while the rest of the orchestra accompanied. He told me he was the only cello playing, but he didn't really explain that it was a special part. He sounded great, and we were so proud of him.
The vases are finally finished! They turned out really beautifully.
The first grade put on a darling program. She has such a cute class.

Things at Mike's work have been pretty crazy lately. On top of big lay offs, they are trying to hit a big deadline. They have been catering dinner lately, which means Mike is working late, late, late. I had the kids come up with a list of dinner ideas that they would like to have.
