The end of 2012
Well, I have been patiently waiting, hoping that Uncle Peter would send me some more pictures of the end of our year, but he hasn't and I am falling behind, so we are going to have to move on. We enjoyed the rest of our holidays a great deal. Grammy, Papa, and Peter flew in on the 26th and stayed until New Years Day. We enjoyed their company and had some fun. We made it up to Apple Hill one day for treats, made and ate lots of good food, and managed to exercise some. The kids enjoyed having company and so did we. Most of our time was spent relaxing and playing with new things. Jens put together his new X-Wing fighter, then miraculously was able to assemble his old Tie Fighter from last year using instructions we found on line. I couldn't believe he was able to find all of the pieces.
Papa and Grammy got the kids all of the Little House books for Christmas, so Papa and Jens read Farmer Boy together. I think we all enjoyed hearing the story. It is amazing to think about how different life was back then!
The kids had fun with Uncle Peter, lots of dart gun wars and even a tea party (that is what is going on in the picture below). They also managed some good trampoline time even though it was freezing here. We had colder temperatures for a longer amount of time than we have ever had since living here.
For Christmas, Papa and Grammy got/made me a bookcase to put in our upstairs hall. Papa constructed and Grammy painted. It looks really nice and, most importantly, it holds a ton of stuff. We are going to have to empty our our office since it will be put to use as Sylvie's room at some point this year!
We celebrated New Years Eve with New York. Our crackers were extremely disappointing and totally didn't work, but that was okay. We had aebelskivers on New Years morning, then sent Grammy, Papa, and Peter home.
2012 was a great year for our family, full of fun memories and experiences. We are looking forward to the exciting things ahead in 2013!
