Portraits

This was truly a sweaty kind of experience.  Cora was terrible! But we ended up with some cute ones.

July at Home 2

Family movie night.  Jens was at a birthday party, so he was watching a different movie--Jurassic Park.   We picked him up at 10 pm because he had a swim meet the next morning--but he didn't sleep much.  He was up with his light on until after 11, I was awoken at 2:30 and his light was on again, and he was up at 6 when Mike got up to head to the pool to check us in.  I think the movie was a little much for him!  In spite of that, he swam really well in our last meet of the summer.  He got 3 PR's, swimming his best times in all of his events.  I was so proud of him!

It was Nathanael's last day to play, so the guys got together and got up to mischief in the yard.  They are a fun group of boys.  We sure wish Nathanael lived close by.

 Sunday--nap time!
Fun at the pool even though swim team is over.

Dress ups!
FHE treats.  Yum.
We squeezed in a trip to Sand Harbor up at Tahoe with Tracy and Colby.  It was a gorgeous day.  Sadly, Cora got carsick on the way up and didn't have any clothes to wear on the way home.  Jens loaned her his extra shirt so we could stop at Costa Vida for dinner on the way home.

 Friends!

July at Home

It was time for blackberries when we got home!  They were early.  But I managed to pick a couple gallons.  We hopped back into the pool and swim team, even though we had missed a big chunk.  The kids had a great attitude about it and swam hard.  Jens got a couple of PR's at his first meet back!  He and I also went to Cub Scout Camp up at Sly Park.  I only went one day, but Jens got to go 2 days.  He especially enjoyed archery, BBGuns, and the science experiments where they got to blow the tops off film containers using household chemicals.  The day I was there, families came up for dinner and stayed for a campfire.  We got to see a flag retired, which was pretty neat, and the older scouts did some skits and songs, which were funny.

The next week, Nathanael Patterson was in town.  He was hanging out the whole week, so we got to spend plenty of time playing with him.  On Tuesday, we took him and Audrey and our family and went to Angora Lake.  It was a gorgeous, fun day.  The kids had a great time paddling around the lake in the raft and playing together.  It was very beautiful and very fun.  We stopped at In 'n Out for dinner.
