December Part 2

Let Christmas Break begin!  We were all looking forward to some down time, and it didn't disappoint.

Mike and I met up with Laura downtown for a yearly Christmas concert fix by Schola Cantorum.  It was wonderful!  Mike and I also made a date at a dessert place we had never tried before--the options were overwhelming!  And we both made excellent choices.
The first day of official vacation:
 We went exploring:

And saw the lights at Dovewood Ct.

 This girl loves a hat.
Christmas Eve we opened the presents the kids made at school and they opened their new jammies.

 They sure looked cute.

SOME people might have been a little worried about Santa coming . . .
Christmas morning we took our time getting up.  The kids weren't allowed to come into our room until 7:30.  Then we laid in bed and thought about gifts we could give Jesus until Cora woke up.  We didn't make it downstairs until 8:30.

 Thank you, Laura!

The kids opened presents from each other first.  Everything was very popular!
Cora loved the pez in her stocking, and the barn.

 Presents from the kids:
Jens made me a beautiful snail-shell necklace, and Sylvie found a new Happy Birthday cup.

I took this picture around 10:30.  We were NOT in a hurry!

Christmas Day was to relaxed and fun.  We enjoyed spending time together and playing.  We had dinner with the Littles and the Homs that night (delicious!).  It was a perfect day.  We saved December 26th for PLAYING!  We played all day and didn't do any chores.  It was very fun.
Quick-draw candy canes, in case of emergency.
 Sylvie, super-spy.
The rest of the break passed too quickly.  We didn't do anything fancy, but we enjoyed spending time together and playing.  The weather was pretty mild, so it was lovely to be outside.  We spent New Year's Eve at the Homs, and had a good time.  We didn't even get close to ringing in the New Year--Cora was pretty wiped out by 8:00, so we were home by 8:30.  2014 was a pretty happy, exciting, fun year for us.  We are looking forward to more of the same in 2015!
