February Part 1

I spent a lot of time on Sunday trying to get pictures of Cora in this dress.  It was purchased by Uncle Loren for cousin Abbie in Lithuania, so it has been worn by a bunch of cousins.  I think it is one of the cutest outfits on her.  She did not cooperate very well, but I still love the outfit.

 Happy Birthday, dear Michael!

I got to teach FAME to Sylvie's class.  We learned about Picasso.  The lesson was really fun, and it even had a ghost story!  The kids drew their own cubist portraits.
At least someone enjoys laundry day.  PS, Cora is obsessed with this vest still.  She loves the "poppets" and always wants to wear it.  Sometimes I have to hide it so she won't wear it constantly.
A new (terrible) trick.  How did she learn to climb on the furniture like that?  No one knows.

Making Valentines for FHE.  The big kids have always liked making valentines--I was amazed by how long Cora spent carefully coloring valentines!

Still likes playing water in the sink.

Sylvie:

January Part Last

Sometimes selfies are the best.  I am not sure what exactly Sylvie and her friend, Kendra, were playing, but it was pretty awesome.  The costumes that resulted were very impressive!  The head dress and boots in particular show real innovation in the world of paper/tape clothing design.

We went to Math Night at the school.  Jens and Sylve both tried several things, but when they got to this Sudoku table, they were hooked.  They sat and played sudoku puzzles for at least 45 minutes.

We met up with Natalie and Miles to go to story time at the library.  It is a big favorite for Cora these days--they have a little toddler/baby story time with lots of songs and finger plays that she just loves.
We were waiting for Sylvie to get home from school.  Cora loves doing selfies.

It is a miracle!  Actually, it was then inevitable.  We waited so long to teach Sylvie to ride a bike that when we finally tackled it, she was more than ready and picked it up in about 2 minutes.  Not to say there wasn't plenty of shrieking and crying and freaking out--I suffered through the LONGEST ride around the block of my life--she cried and screamed loudly the whole way.  I was seriously waiting for a neighbor to accost us or call the police.  But she did it, and now rides like a pro.
New favorite activity!  Perfect for when she gets marker all over her hands.

My blueberry bushes are blooming.  A lot!  I can't wait to try some blueberries!

January Part 3

Well, I'm not sure why this picture is sideways, but it is.   We have been enjoying all of the Christmas books from Grammy and Papa.  Sylvie especially loves this elephant and piggy one, which she can read by herself!

Jens's cello is still a novelty.  He doesn't practice much, so when he gets it out it gets a lot of attention!
I actually finished painting the house.  The high trim, around the window, everything.  It looks so much better.  I should have done it (literally) years ago.
 My cute bunch!

 "Eyes!"
Cora LOVES Sylvie and often makes us smile by shouting for her.  "SILL-EE-UH!"  Sylvie is a sweet sister and loves to read to Cora.

 Movie night!
 Mmmm--guacamole!
All ready for church wearing Mom's shoes.
This girl is turning into trouble.  She was dragging the bar stools around to achieve her own means, so I tied them together hoping that would prevent her from moving them.  It did not work.
 Go Gators!
